On the 300-year anniversary
of Benjamin Franklin’s birth (1706-2006), Image Engineering
joined the celebration honoring the life and enduring
legacy of one of our most remarkable founding fathers.
The special event, following a day of kick-off activity,
hosted dignitaries, executive staff, and major contributors
to the national celebration.
Two Promotion 1200 projectors synchronized scrolling
images with three laser projectors, audio, and close-proximity
pyrotechnics. The two minute finale capped off a night
of speeches, entertainment, and a special visit from Ben
Franklin.
Spandex scrims transformed Philadelphia's Franklin Institute
into a canvas for lighting and projection. Image Engineering
provided the lighting, and choreographed the overall look
to compliment two different portions of the event timeline.
Matrix 300 and 575 lights provided versitile moving head
technology.
Guests
arrived and enjoyed cocktails amid dancing kites in the
museum atrium. After enjoying a sit-down dinner in Franklin
Hall, the kite dancers led the procession back into a transformed
atrium.
Guest artist, Ralph Archibald, led a toast which ended
in a rousing trio of Huzzahs! Choreographed pyrotechic
gerbs, airbursts and flames wowed young and old alike.
Quotes and images from Franklin's life swept across the
70 foot wall as two 3-watt YAG lasers and an Ar+Kr (white
light) laser created a lattice of light over the dignitaries.
