Kicking It Off Ravens Style!

The Baltimore Ravens counted down to kickof using image projections and lasers on local Baltimore buildings. These projections were produced by Image Engineering and utilized high power Pani and Griven projectors. Flexibility of full color film and lasers rather than gobos allowed the Ravens to promote their team and match the surfaces of the various locations.

5 days to go...

Verizon of Baltimore, MD hosted the September 6th countdown night. A Pani BP6 Gold projector was set across the street from the building to project a 10 story image onto the angled wall above the building's main entrance. The projection was specially designed to adjust for not only vertical keystoning, but horizontal keystone as well. Image Engineering's projection specialists measured the side then utilized 3-D software to simulate the keystone. The films were corrected, then outsourced for processing.

9/7/2005 - Two Pani BP6 Gold projectors were placed on top of the Verizon building to project 98' x 80' images onto the Legg Mason building. The projectors were placed side by side and fine tune adjustments made to overlay images to achieve maximum brightness. The throw between the buildings spanned over 430'. Special lensing was utilized and keystone adjustments made to the film to compensate for the distance and throw angle.

9/8/2005 - Rams Head Live of Baltimore, MD hosted a special countdown party including an appearance by the Ravens' cheerleaders. Image Engineering projected the countdown graphics onto the building using a Griven ProMotion 1200 projector. The graphics created were keystoned and constructed to fit around the windows of the building.

9/9/2005 - Constellation Energy hosted the second to the last day of image projections. A Griven ProMotion 1200 projector was used.

One day to go...

Wheelabrator of Baltimore, MD hosted the final night of the countdown. Image Engineering projected laser graphic animations onto the Wheelabrator stack. In addition to the high powered laser system, space cannon searchlights illuminated the edges of the stack a glowing purple hue for the Ravens.
